Persimmon 'Chocolate' (Chocolate Persimmon)

Height: 30-40 feet
Spread: 30-40 feet
Light: Full sun
Soil: Amended, well-drained soil.
Description: Non-Astringent Persimmon. Self-pollinating fruit tree with a slightly rounded form. Grows at a medium pace and produces fruit prolifically at a young age. Attractive neon yellow fall color. Yellow-white flowers in mid-spring give way to round, tomato-shaped orange fruit in late fall. Harvest fruit when color is at its fullest. Fruit has a chocolate-brown, firm flesh that can be eaten immediately after picking or allowed to soften, which will provide a sweeter flavor.
