Ficus carica 'Unknown White' (Unknown White Fig)

Height: 12 feet
Spread: 12 feet
Light: Full sun to part shade. Best fruit production in more sun.
Soil: Amended, evenly moist but well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established.
Description: Deciduous small tree with a open, spreading habit. Large, dark green, deeply lobed foliage is rough and fragrant. Late summer brings bountiful crops of tasty white figs with pink flesh that can be eaten raw, dried or used in desserts. This specimen was shared with G*H owner Scott McMahan by a local fig collector who does not know the cultivar name; however, she claims that this is the best tasting fig in her collection and well worth growing despite its lack of a proper name! Can be espaliered or pruned to smaller size.
