Light: Best color in morning sun and afternoon shade.
Soil: Amended, moist but well-drained soil.
Description:A compact, deciduous shrubby tree whose leaves emerge a deep crimson and mature to more copper tones. Fall color is a bonanza of yellows, oranges and reds. Lateral branches overlap for a natural bonsai look. Introduced by famed Japanese Maple expert, Masayoshi Yano. Great specimen plant for containers or in the front of the mixed bed. Pairs well with Carex ‘Blue Bunny’ or Acorus ‘Variegata.’ Slow grower.
