Vitex 'Shoal Creek' (Shoal Creek Chastetree)

Height: 15 feet
Spread: 13 feet
Light: Full sun.
Soil: Average, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established.
Description: Deciduous small tree or shrub with an upright, vase-like habit. Grey-green, aromatic, palmate leaves are held in clusters of 5-7 lance-like leaflets and slightly resemble the leaves of a certain (currently) illegal plant. Tiny, fragrant, lilac flowers in large, loose panicles cover the plant from summer until frost – bee and butterfly favorite! Specimen. Remove the bottom branches for a more tree-like appearance and underplant with showy perennials. Prune hard in winter if needed to maintain a smaller size.
