Rhapidophyllum hystrix (Needle Palm)

Height: 4-6 feet
Spread: 4-8 feet
Light: Full sun to part shade. Best performance is in part shade.
Soil: Moist, amended, well-drained soil.
Description: A shrubby, trunkless, exceptionally cold-hardy palm. Prefers a moist position in partial shade. Native to the southeastern US, it grows wild from the southern tip of South Carolina to central Florida, and west to southern Mississippi in wooded, swampy areas. Cold hardy to -10 F once established.
