Light: Sun to part shade. Happiest with some afternoon shade.
Soil: Average, moist soil. Tolerates boggy sites.
Description: Deciduous, native shrub that has a compact, upright habit with good branching. Medium green, glossy, round leaves take on golden hues in fall. Fragrant, white, upright flower spires cover the shrub in midsummer and are a bee and butterfly favorite. Flowers give way to dark brown seed pods in fall. Great in mass or as a foundation plant.
