Onoclea sensibilis (Sensitive Fern)

Height: 2 feet
Spread: 2 feet
Light: Shade to partial shade
Soil: Amended, evenly moist soil.
Description: Bright, yellow-green fronds spring-summer. Foliage quickly goes dormant once frosted in the fall (FYI early settlers coined the common name when they noticed this). Useful in mass in the shade. Attractive near water features, but doesn’t have to have wet soil to thrive. Native to the eastern half of the U.S.
