Description: ‘Australia’ is an impressive canna with large dark-purple (almost black) leaves. The foliage has a satiny finish and holds up well through summer’s heat. Large red flowers on 5’ stalks top plants in early summer. Hummingbird magnet! Right at home in the border, cannas grow well alongside daylilies, ornamental grasses, echinacea, and hibiscus. Cut back to the ground after leaves are hit by frost in the fall.
