Asclepias curassavaca (Butterfly weed, Blood flower)

Height: 2-4 feet
Spread: 2 feet
Light: Full sun
Soil: Moist, well-drained soil.
Description: Green pinnate alternating leaves rise from the ground in mid-spring. Orange flowers with yellow hoods bloom mid-summer through fall. Monarch butterflies lay eggs on this plant in late summer; caterpillars will use it for food! This is a re-seeding annual (will come back pretty reliably year after year).
