Muhlenbergia lindheimeri (Lindheimer's Muhly Grass)

Height: 4-5 feet
Spread: 4-5 feet
Light: Full to part sun
Soil: Well-drained soil. Does not like wet feet.
Description: Herbaceous, native perennial that forms a dense clump of fine, steel-blue foliage in a fountain-like habit. Purple flowers crown the plant in late summer and then give way to silver seedheads that persist through winter. Large enough to be used for screening but also works well as a foundation planting. Pairs well with Echinacea, Salvia, Agastache, and dark-leafed Canna. Cut back in early spring as new growth emerges.
